Davids Blog with useful tips and information
Saturday August 7
What can we say? two weeks away from the big smoke has been fantastic. The weather has been great, the fishing relaxing and the beaches deserted. Last week we took HERBY1 to meet some relations at the Valla VW Rally. What a buzz, more than 400 VW's in convoy from Valla to Nambucca, finishing with cars 4 abreast on the main street.
Walked over the headland on Thursday afternoon sat and watched a small pod of dolphins directly below us, then walked from Grassy to Stuarts Point yesterday along the river. Checked out the beach at Stuarts Point , not a person in sight on a pristine piece of coastline, only having to share a magnificent view with another large pod of dolphins making there way south.
The past two weeks have reaffirmed a number of must dos:
Early morning stroll to jetty on river with fishing tackle - who cares if we don't get a bite
Drive up to The Pines lookout - what a view
Walk along the beach - anytime of the day, very special at sunrise
Walk over Grassy Headland
Walk along river to Stuarts Point
P.S had a meal at the Stuarts Point pub, no frills but good grub and value.
